OfSted Outstanding Literacy All lessons Starter: With a new shift in focus for the 2012 framework that means that teaching and learning can only be judged outstanding if literacy and numeracy are encorporated across the curriculum, I am making a daily starter / settler activity that can be incorporated into all lessons. These mini activities are examples of a literacy activity & there is a tutorial before each. These are going to be made daily, so I'll upload them é I hope they will help other schools to boost literacy teaching. This one is about extending vocabulary.

English Functional Skills Lesson 3 Level 1 and 2 These are lessons that are aimed at NC level 5 /6 / GCSE D/C learners who are trying to get Level 1 / 2 in Functional Skills English. I will uploaded as many lessons as I can find. I certainly have the first 4 of this unti that encorporates a little Maths but predominantly English. These lessons look at the notion of family and marriage and whether or not marriage is still relevant.

This is either a full lesson PP or an exam booklet that can be printed off for pupils. it consists of example answers for the new exam with mark schemes that encourage pupils to work out what the pupil scored. All our foundation C grade answers - showing pupils what to do to get the C. I get the pupils to sit the mock exam paper before looking at the examples.

This is the starter and the worksheets that you need for it. Really interactive - pupils have alsways loved this activity - across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 - very simple but very effective! Great AFL tool as well.

Powerpoint lesson on Macbeth, ready to teach with its resources. Presentation covers how Lady Macbeth persuades her husband - aimed at level 5 readers. Can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons.

Many activities introducing Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Each lesson Powerpoint is a total entity and it has been uploaded with all of it&'s resources for that lesson beside it. All lessons have been saved with the same title to make it easier to search for them.

This is one of many 'Of Mice and Men' resources that I have collected over the years of teaching the novel. I've taught it for various exam boards and in schools in various parts of the country and all will be of some use.
